On October 22 I perfomed a short, new suite, Cold War, for jazz quartet, at the University of Manchester. The band featured Ed Jones (sax), Winston Clifford (drums) and Julie Walkington (double bass).

As we approach the end of 2009 several new recording projects are underway.

Once again the brilliant violinist Andy Long and his New World Quartet have recorded new string quartets, this time by David Beck, Derek Bourgeois, the late George Linstead and Geoffrey Kimpton. These recordings will be released on two new discs - The British Quartet Vols 2 and 3.

I have also had the pleasure of working with Ian Mitchell and the Gemini group at Trinity College London, recording music by Giles Easterbrook, to be released shortly.

Finally, I am really excited to be recording the piano music of Anthony Gilbert at the RNCM, featuring Richard Casey.
